Satellite TV - FAQ

Getting hooked up in your room?

In order to get cable TV working in your room you'll need two things:

A cable ready TV
A cable patch chord.

If you do not have a patch chord you will be able to purchase one from the Campus Computer Store.

Once you have obtained the above items connecting it in your room is very simple. In most of the dorms look for the Voice and Data jacks in your room. Directly beneath the connectors you'll find a barrel connector in which you can plug your patch chord into. Plug the other end into your TV and turn it on.

Why is there a difference between the channels that I get in my room and the channels that appear in the common areas?

The channels that appear in residence rooms are a selection of those that appear in common rooms. In general, the channels that appear in residence rooms are of a cultural and educational nature that are related to the curriculum of the college. Channels that appear in common areas include these selections and also include offerings oriented to entertainment.

What if I have a problem?

If for some reason you cannot locate the plug or you do not get a picture after following these instructions, please call the help line 439-4357.
