Pura Belpre Award
The Pura Belpré Award, established in 1996, is presented to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.
American Library Association

Given to African American authors and illustrator for outstanding inspirational and educational contributions
The Schneider Family Book Award
The Schneider Family Book Awards honor an author or illustrator for a book that embodies an artistic expression of the disability experience for child and adolescent audiences.
Batchelder Award
The (Mildred L.)Batchelder Award recognizes an outstanding children's book published in a foreign language and translated into English. Includes links to winners and submission instructions.
Best Books for Young Adults

Robert F. Sibert Information Book Medal

A non-profit organization which represents an international network of people who are committed to bringing books and children together. This organization offers conferences, activities, and publications on an international level.
Kay E. Vandergrift's Special Interest Page
This scholarly site is intended for exploring ideas and information with students who are interested in youth literature, genre fiction, women's studies, and related topics. On the youth side, there are materials for young adults, children, and the history of children's literature.
