This guide provides a listing of some of the most important and recent resources available at Shain library for finding international internships. A brief list of Internet Resources in also included. Books & Media
Search Caravan, the Connecticut College Library Catalog to find books, videos, government publications and journal titles. The catalog can be searched by author, title, keyword or subject. You can also search the holdings of Trinity College and Wesleyan University . To search for books and media outside of the local catalog, use WorldCat.

Databases & Indexes:
There are a variety databases available to students and faculty and staff at Connecticut College . All contain citations and abstracts of articles in particular subject areas. Some also contain the full-text of articles. The following databases are examples of those that may be useful for research relevant to international studies and internships. Databases providing access to international newspapers are also listed.
CIAO ( Columbia International Affairs Online)
A comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs. It publishes a wide range of scholarship from 1991 onward that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, proceedings from conferences, books, journals and policy briefs.
GEOBASE (via FirstSearch)
This databases covers worldwide literature on geography, geology, and ecology. Coverage includes journals, books, monographs, conference proceedings, and reports beginning 1980 to the present.
HAPI (Hispanic American Periodicals Index)
A bibliography of authoritative, worldwide information about Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean basin, the United States-Mexico border region, and Hispanics in the United States. Contains citations to articles, book reviews, documents, original literary works, and other materials. Coverage is 1970 forward .
Historical Abstracts
An index to journal articles, book and video reviews, and dissertations covering world history from 1450 to the present. The United States and Canada are not covered in this database.
HLAS Online (Handbook of Latin American Studies)
A bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities
International Political Science Abstracts
Produced since 1951 by the International Political Science Association, IPSA is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles from periodicals published throughout the world. Coverage is 1989 forward.
Latin America Data Base
An Internet-based news service in English about Latin America , publishing in-depth coverage of Latin American affairs since 1986.
PAIS International
PAIS International contains references to more than 540,100 journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference reports, publications of international agencies, microfiche, Internet material, and more. Newspapers and newsletters are not indexed. PAIS International includes publications from over 120 countries throughout the world. In addition to English, some of the indexed materials are published in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Social Science Abstracts (via WilsonWeb)
An index to articles in scholarly journals in the social sciences, covering publications from 1984 to the present. Provides broad coverage in the social sciences including anthropology, area studies, community health and medical care, economics, family studies, minority studies, planning and public administration, policy sciences, psychology, social work and public welfare, sociology, urban studies, women's studies, and related subjects
World News Connection
Extensive database of translated and English-language news and information taken from the foreign media (newspaper articles, conference proceedings, television and radio broadcasts, periodicals, and non-classed technical reports) covering socioeconomic, political, scientific, technical, and environmental issues and events. 1995 - present
