Alumni Environmental Achievement Award
The Goodwin-Niering Center Alumni Environmental Achivement Award is presented to alumni who have demonstrated particular success in their chosen field. Each of the recipients has been chosen for their unique and outstanding contributions to the environment in areas such as research, education, preservation, conservation and activism.
The 2008 award recipient, Tedd Saunders '83, promotes environmental sustainability in the business world.
Allen Carroll '73, chief cartographer of National Geographic Maps, was the 2006 award recipient.
Restoration and preservation are long-term propositions forAlexander Brash '81, the 2003 award recipient. 
David R. Foster ´77, the 2002 award recipient, puts a human face on the landscape.

Filmmaker Judith H. Irving ’68, the 2000 award recipient, strives to capture the beat of life.
Linda Lear ’62, the 1999 award recipient, illuminates the lives of environmental activists.
