Dean of the Faculty
As the principal adviser to the President on academic affairs, the Dean of the Faculty leads the faculty in its deliberations on the educational policies of the College, and promotes academic excellence in research, teaching, and service.
The Dean of the Faculty oversees all academic departments, centers, and programs at the College. More specifically, the Dean plays major roles in the appointment of academic department chairs and directors of interdisciplinary major programs, the appointment, promotion, tenure and termination of individual faculty members, and oversees the academic quality of the College's curriculum.
The Dean of the Faculty is also responsible for relations with other colleges, institutions, and consortia, and reviews exchanges and cooperative programs to assure academic quality.
