TRIP China 2001

Our last full-scheduled day was spent in the delicate city of Suzhou, renowned for its silk industry and gardening art in the 19th century. In a tourist-friendly (and commerce-unabashed) sample silk factory, we were shown the entire process of silk fabric making, from feeding the worm to extracting thread from a cocoon all the way up to lining and weaving.
experience.
