With directions and their CC gifts in hand, members of the CC troupe find their way from the 管庄 subway station in the SE sprawl of Beijing to the home of Professors Wang and Ma for a family visit. Here they prepare to purchase ginger for that evening's dumpling party.   This was most of the students' first taste of marketplace bargaining, part of the day-to-day life of Chinese people.
