The Nanjing-Hopkins Center, Nanjing, 03/20/04. Director Robert Daly briefed us on the future of this prestigious post-baccalaureate (and now joint M.A.) program of social sciences with a focused strength on Sino-American relations and policies. During the conversation, we were informed of the failed assassination attempt targeted at Taiwan's incumbent president Chen Shui-bien the day before when he was campaigning in Tainan, Taiwan.
