Established in 1931, the Arboretum encompasses over 700 acres of native plant collection gardens and hiking trails. Pick up a map for a self-guided tour in the box on the bulletin board located near the main entrance. The tour will take you on a 2-mile walk along the trail throughout the Arboretum. Before hitting the trails, find the perfect walking stick for everyone and sing songs as you walk.

| Your children will have an opportunity to view the many wonders of nature. Imagine bringing the children in the spring when all the plants are beginning to bud, in the summer when everything is in full bloom, and again in the fall to see the changing of the colors. What better way to introduce the cycle of the seasons to children! | |
| The
Arboretum is also a great place
for fantasy play. Imagine using all of the little alcoves as secret hideouts and the rock outcrops as
great mountains to be conquered! Whether you take the tour or simply spend the day hiking and playing, the Arboretum is a great place for children. |
