Groton – Begin at Sutton Park and let the children swing and slide at the playground or throw basketballs.  Head to the Groton-New London Airport and watch the airplanes take off and land.  Finish at Bluff Point where you can have a picnic, watch the airplanes again, take a hike, throw pebbles in the water, or crab off of the rocks.  Collect treasures during your hike or walk along the beach and talk about your day.

Mystic – In the summer months, you and your children can ride the trolley all day for a nominal fee.  Start at the Old Mystic village, the Mystic Seaport or the Aquarium, then take the trolley back to Cottrell Street.  Bring the children to the playground before heading to the park to watch the drawbridge open and the boats that pass through.  Get back on the trolley and simply ride through Mystic as long as you want!

New London – Start your day at the Lyman Allyn Museum.  After your museum visit, head to the Connecticut College Arboretum and hike the trails while you look for treasures.  When you get home, have the children draw their own museum pictures or create sculptures with their findings.
