Follow-up Activities

After visiting the Pequot Museum you can:

Build your own wigwam out of sticks and blankets or make a canoe out of cardboard.

Create inkblot totem poles using a folded sheet of paper and paints.

Search your backyard for stones that would make good tools.

Head to the library and learn more about Native American history. Visit the Mystic Seaport and see the differences in life-style from one century to another.  Compare the 16th, 19th, and 20th centuries.  What were homes like in the different centuries?  How did people cook?  Where did they get their food?  What did people wear?  How did they heat their homes?
