This beautiful museum traces the heritage and history of the Pequot tribe from prehistoric times to the present.

Begin your visit by walking through the simulated glacial crevasse.  Watch your children’s faces as they hear creaking ice and feel cold air in the ice-covered corridor.

Next, you will enjoy four incredible dioramas supported by computer animation and sound that depict the changing climate, extinct mammals and a caribou kill.

The highlight of the Research Center is the Pequot village.  You and your children will be amazed by the life-size replications of daily life in the 16th-century.

Many of the exhibits at the museum are accompanied by user-friendly, interactive computers. Children will have fun touching the screen and making scenes come to life.

There are also thirteen original films and video programs available in the museum.   Children as young as age four will appreciate these films which explore the making of food, clothes, tools, and wigwams.

This museum is truly a learning experience for children of all ages.  Young children may find it especially amazing.  This may be their first realization that people didn’t always have the convenience of grocery stores and homes with doors!   (Note: Photography is not permitted in the exhibit area.)
