SATA Rome

SATA Rome was initiated with programs in 2000 and 2002 under the direction of Robert E. Proctor, Joanne Toor Cummings '50 Professor of Italian, at John Cabot University in Rome.

SATA 2004 took place during the spring semester 2004 under the direction of Professor of Sociology Arthur Ferrari. SATA 2005 was under direction of Professor Frederick Paxton, former Dean of International Studies and former Director of the Toor-Cummings Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts. SATA Rome 2006 is directed by Professor Julie Rivkin, English department.

John Cabot University is a private, four-year, accredited American liberal arts college of 600 students, and growing, with particular strength in art history, English literature, international affairs and political science, and offers courses in international business administration. More than fifty faculty members provide small classes and individualized attention to a diverse, international student body. Its location in Trastevere, the very center of old Rome, provides an extended "campus" of winding cobblestone streets, trattorias and cafes where students congregate.

Day trips and multi-day excursions are an integral part of SATA Rome.
