SATA Prague 2005 Blog

SATA Prague departed for Prague on January 21, 2005, under the direction of Professor Eva Eckert. The semester began with a 2-week immersion program in Czech language in Prague. Regular classes started in early February and end in mid-May.

The SATA Prague 2005 program was conducted through the Undergraduate Program in East and Central European Studies ECES at Charles University in Prague, http://www.ff.cuni.cz/

The East and Central European Studies Program is a semester-long program with English instruction designed for international students of universities and institutions of higher learning. The Program includes an obligatory two-week intensive Czech language course followed by semester courses. Academic staff members of Charles University teach the courses. Students will have access to libraries, sports facilities, cafeterias and other facilities and activities. Besides the courses offered through the ECES Program, students are welcomed to participate in lectures and take courses at any of 48 departments of Faculty of Arts, with language of instruction being the only requirement. The classrooms, offices, libraries, dorms and cafeterias are located in the historical center of Prague.

Accommodations for CC students were in the Prague Castle area in the Komenského Dorms, a nice and safe place providing many small services that made student life easy and pleasant.
