Student Reflections

"I know more about Czech history, politics and culture than I do about American. This year has taught me a lot about Czechs and about myself. I gained an understanding of how Czechs view the world and how that is different from my view... The past year I've spent studying Czech has opened my eyes to the world and events beyond our traditional U.S.-centered view... "

"All of the work for Czech 101 made the semester in Prague seem extremely valuable, while it also gave me the feeling that I worked to enjoy and learn from my semester abroad... By studying a language and then having the opportunity to learn and be in the country is an incredible advantage. I learned how languages shape cultures and the traditions and customs that link the language to the people."

"I think SATA is one of the best study abroad programs that Conn College offers. I think students get more out of SATA Prague than other obroad programs because Professor Eckert is so enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge of Prague and the Czech Republic’s culture and history. Through this program I have learned so much that I would probably not have been able to learn otherwise. I will never forget this semester in Prague because it was such as amazing experience."
