Honor's thesis: "Optical Variability of Markarian 501". Doug finishing his PhD in astrophysics at the University of Florida in 2004. His thesis work was on interacting galaxies and galactic dynamics and when he is not observing at telescopes around the world, he is interested in astronomy outreach and science education. In July of 2005, Doug marrried his college sweetheart, Jessica Sank '98. They currrently live and work in the Washington, D.C. area.
