Catholicism:

Most of the Nikkei-Brazilians and Nikkei-Peruvians we, the research team, interviewed identified themselves as Catholics. Since Catholicism is firmly established in Latin America, it is not surprising that the majority of Nikkei who grew up in Brazil or Peru follow this tradition.

Traditional: Shintoism and Buddhism are the traditional religions of Japan. Although over 97% of all Japanese identify these as their religions, the vast majority of them do not actively practice.

Contemporary: Tenrikyo, Seicho-no-ie, Sekai-kyusei-kyo, and Soka Gakkai some of the more popular "New Japanese Religions." It is interesting to note that although they are considered to be religions in Japan, they are schools of philosophical thought in Brazil.
