Research is the chance to explore, on your own, the subjects which most intrigue you, and to share your findings with others. In the process, you gain first-hand familiarity with the subject; in the most rewarding cases, you may discover or figure out something that no one else has ever discovered or figured out before. Research promotes analytical skills and ushers you into the wider scholarly community of researchers, both students and faculty. Learn more in the Honors/Independent study section.
English department faculty members are engaged in a wide range of research interests. The results of their work show up both in the classes they teach and in their publications. For publications, view their profiles in the Faculty section.
