Honors/Independent Study
Honors study is an opportunity for the religious studies major with deep interest and motivation who meets the College's and department's standards.
As a junior who has maintained a 3.5 average in your religious major courses for the sophomore and junior years, you may at the end of the junior year request permission of your department to be admitted to honors study. At this time, in consultation with your major department, you'll formulate a tentative plan for a senior project that has a scope of a year-long project in your declared major.
In your senior year, you may be a preceptor for our classes or research an honors thesis. Thesis topics have included the Christian pop-rock movement and the role of prison chaplains. See the Research section to view two recent honors theses.
