Andrew N. Davis Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies Specialization:
Andrew N. Davis is a visiting assistant professor of environmental studies, law and policy and is associated with the College's Goodwin Niering Center for Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies. Davis is a partner in the Environmental/Health & Safety Practice Group in the Hartford office of the international law firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf. He counsels diverse public and private clients in transactional, permitting, compliance and enforcement matters under federal and state health and safety, hazardous waste, air and water pollution, site development and property transfer laws. Davis also counsels ship owners/managers and their insurers on major casualties including oil spills, collisions, and explosions, handling response/cleanup efforts and natural resource damage claims. He is a member of several national and international environmental organizations and a frequent speaker on environmental/health and safety topics. Davis is the author of numerous scientific and environmental law articles and has written two books: The Home Environmental Sourcebook: 50 Environmental Hazards to Avoid When Buying, Selling or Maintaining a Home (Owl Books/Henry Holt & Co., 1996) and ISO 14001 - Meeting Business Goals Through an Effective Environmental Management System (Simon & Schuster/Bureau of Business Practice, 1998).
