James L. Dygert has been a member of the adjunct music faculty at Connecticut College since 1974. He is a graduate of the Hartt School of the University of Hartford with a Bachelor of Music Education degree and Connecticut College with a Master of Arts in Teaching. He has also done additional graduate work at Hartt and the University of Wisconsin-Madison and studied saxophone with Joseph Allard and Donald Sinta. A member of the United States Coast Guard Band for 24 years, he retired as Assistant Director in 1986. Since then, he has ben a member of the Thames Valley Music School faculty teaching clarinet and saxophone. He is presently a member of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony where he has played clarinet for 30 years. Mr. Dygert also performs with several area dance bands, jazz ensembles, and concert bands.
