Kerstin Mueller Dembling Visiting Assistant Professor, German Studies Joined Connecticut College: 2007 Specialization:
Kerstin Mueller Dembling teaches German language classes at all levels at Connecticut College. She enjoys exploring innovative approaches to the foreign language classroom, for example by integrating new technologies and media such as the Internet, wikis, blogs, and German TV. Among the courses she teaches are seminars in German on post-WWII and post-unification literature, film and other media, transnational cinema and literature, and general education courses (in English) on German cinema and the Holocaust in film and literature. Dr. Mueller Dembling's research focuses on the intersections of cultural productions and history. Her publications include articles on the reception of Holocaust dramas in postwar Germany, on the humorous portrayal of Hitler in art, and on recent documentary films that explore the Nazi legacy within the family. She is currently working on a book-length study on German memory of the Holocaust in theater. View the German Studies department website. |
