Kerstin Mueller Visiting Assistant Professor, German Studies Joined Connecticut College: 2007 Specialization:
Kerstin Mueller teaches language classes at all levels and is particularly interested in finding new approaches for introducing cultural studies into the foreign language curriculum at an early level. She has taught literature and culture courses from the 18th to the 21st century, including a seminar on histories and stories of youth in German literature and film. Her teaching interests also extend to English language courses, for example on witches and witchcraft in Europe and the United States and their representation in popular culture. Professor Mueller’s research focuses on representations of the Holocaust and the Nazi past in German literature, theater, and film. She is currently working on a book examining the representation of Nazis in postwar West German theater. Her article on the reception of Erwin Sylvanus’s Dr. Korczak and the Children was recently published in Modern Drama. View the German Studies department site. |
