| Robyne Watkin Distinguished Guest Artist, Dance Joined Connecticut College: 2001 The artistic career of Robyne Watkin spans a period of four and a half decades as an exceptional premier dancer, a teacher and director in all levels of dance. During her distinguished career, she has performed an extensive repertory ranging from the classics to contemporary works by acclaimed choreographers. Her vast experience comes from working in prestigious dance companies in Europe and America and with world renowned choreographers and master teachers. Throughout her fifteen-year tenure with the Hartford Ballet Company, Ms. Watkin performed major roles in full length classical and contemporary works and held the positions of ballet mistress, principal company teacher and co- director of the Hartford Ballet Chamber Company. Ms. Watkin’s teaching credits include guest and resident positions at Boston Conservatory, Cleveland Ballet Company, Dance Caravan USA, Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company, P.A.C.T. Ballet Company S.A, Hartford Ballet Company, Connecticut College, Yale University School of Music and The Greater Hartford Academy of Arts Magnet School. Since 2000 she has been on the faculty of the Connecticut College dance department. In the summer of 2002, she was part of a Connecticut College educational event — a border crossing from Vietnam to Yunnan China. She continues to be invited to guest-teach at universities and cultural institutions internationally and serves as an adjudicator and master teacher for international dance competitions. Ms. Watkin has served on the board of the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and continues to serve as a panelist for The Connecticut Commission on Film, Culture and Tourism as well as a special consulting faculty for Charter Oak State College. She served as a vice president for the Connecticut Dance Alliance, Program Director for Dance Services Network, School Improvement Council West Hartford Schools, and is an affiliated artist of Charter Oak Cultural Center and Royal Academy of Dancing London. Ms. Watkin is listed in Who’s Who in Entertainment and has presented on public access televison and public radio as well as at the Leadership Greater Hartford Alumni Association.
