Q: I am coming to campus but wasn't planning to interview. Does it make a difference?
A: The opportunity for us to have a personal interaction with you always makes a difference. Interviews are strongly recommended. Please come prepared to talk about Connecticut and anything else that interests you. We would much rather talk about what you want to talk about that to have to fall back on tired questions about your favorite class or what vegetable you would be.
Please, please spend some time on this Web site reading about the College so that you have questions for us. Come with a story to tell. We really want to learn about you. We will do everything possible to accommodate your interview request for an interview no matter where you are calling from.
You really should not interview, however, if you are doing it because your parents or counselor are making you. Believe me, we can tell. If you don't want to be here it is an awkward experience and a waste of time for both of us. See the Interview section for more information and helpful interview tips.

Q: When are interviews available?
A: Interviews are generally available between late March and mid December. Interviews must be conducted before you apply and slots fill up quickly. Last year, all of our December on-campus and alumni interview slots were booked by October, so if you are coming to campus, call ahead and schedule an interview. See the Interview section for more information and helpful interview tips.

Q: When are the campus tours and information sessions, and do I need an appointment?

Q: Are you close enough to other colleges so I can visit two in a day?
A: Yes, we are, but you would be selling a school short if you tried for three. We are about an hour's drive from colleges and universities in Hartford, Middletown and New Haven, Connecticut, as well as Providence, Rhode Island. You could probably set foot on six campuses in a day, but you can't get a real taste of more than two and keep yourself and your family sane.
We have seen too many families in need of serious counseling because they visited three or four colleges a day for four days. Not only do you make it extremely difficult on yourself to separate the schools in your mind, but you inevitably contribute to the nation's escalating divorce rate and the highway revenue of the states of New England through your meetings with Mr. or Ms. State Trooper.

Q: Are overnight visits possible?
A: The Office of Admission does not coordinate overnight stays for prospective students. Prospective students are welcome to make their own arrangements to stay with a student at the college.
However, when you visit the campus in the Fall, there's no better way to find out about Connecticut College than sitting down to lunch with a student! Our M.E.A.L. program is available to high school seniors on Mondays and Fridays in the Fall.
M.E.A.L. Program Schedule:
10:30 a.m. - Campus Tour
11:30 a.m. - Group Information Session
12:30 p.m. - Lunch with Connecticut College students
You are also encouraged to schedule an interview during your visit to campus.
All M.E.A.L. lunch visits begin and end at the Admission Office. Please call the Office of Admission at least one week before your visit at 860-439-2200 to take part in the M.E.A.L. program.

Q: How do I set up an alumni interview if I cannot get to campus?
A: Alumni interviews can be scheduled on the Admission Web site beginning in early fall of a student's senior year. We try our best to accommodate all requests, but alumni availability is limited in some areas of the country and the world.
