Understanding the
financial aid award
Financial aid funding is limited and must be distributed in an equitable and consistent manner.
Once financial need has been established, a financial aid award package is constructed following a step-wise approach until financial need is met.
The priority order is:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
- Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (freshman/sophomore)
- Federal National SMART Grant (junior/senior)
- Federal TEACH Grant
- Loan - Federal Stafford, Federal Perkins, or Connecticut College
- Federal Work Study
- State Grants
- Connecticut College Grant
