What type of CAAP volunteer position suits you?

This fall, there are two CAAP volunteer opportunities: CAAP Interviewer and CAAP College Fair Representative. When you've decided, go to the CAAP Registration Form and sign up!

CAAP Interviewers

Alumni interviews provide an additional means for the admission staff to explore the intangible qualities of prospective candidates, such as their personality, scholarship, intellectual integrity, commitment, and curiosity.

As a CAAP Interviewer, you will be responsible for:

  • contacting students assigned to you
  • meeting with your assigned student(s) to discuss his/her interests
  • completing a short written evaluation of the student

Interviewing is a crucial CAAP responsibility that must be done in a timely fashion in order to meet application review deadlines. The alumni interviewing season runs from September through early January.

CAAP College Fair Representatives

You will attend college fairs held by your local high schools or area programs. At the fair you will be responsible for answering questions and providing prospective students with general information about Connecticut College. Prior to the fair we will ship to you the necessary supplies, including information on frequently asked questions.

Why not visit the Campus this Fall?

As a CAAP volunteer, come back to your alma mater and join us for a campus tour and/or information session. In one hour, you'll learn more about what’s happening at the College, refresh your memories of what Conn has to offer, and be able to share that with today's smart and savvy prospective student!

Meet the Admission Staff!

In addition to working with the CAAP Coordinator, as a CAAP volunteer you are encouraged to engage with the member of the Admission staff who travels and reads applications from your area of the country or world. This admission counselor will be most informed about the high schools and communities from which you are meeting prospective students.

Thank you for volunteering to help draw the best students into the Class of 2011! If you have more questions, contact Dara Granoff at CAAP@conncoll.edu.
