For International Students

For International Students

Welcome to Connecticut College.

Connecticut College

Our academic program has a strong international focus. You can make an important contribution to our campus community by sharing your diverse perspectives and cultural experiences inside and outside of the classroom. Currently 71 countries are represented among our student body. If you would like to correspond with a current international student, please e-mail scott.alexander@conncoll.edu

In May, the Office of Admission mailed a matriculation packet, I-20 and instructions for the F-1 visa to enrolling students.

All first-year students arrive on August 23 for a four-day orientation program. As an international student you and your parents are invited to arrive early and attend a special program called "Odyssey"on August 22. Odyssey will provide additional background on the curriculum, grading system and student life at Connecticut College.

You will be supported at Connecticut College by the international student adviser, Carmela Patton, who is also an instructor of Italian. She can advise you on your student visa, transportation, finance, employment, healthcare, housing, and other situations unique to international students. She serves as the faculty adviser to ATLAS, the international students' club and new student orientation programs. Contact her at carmela.patton@conncoll.edu or 860-439-5249.

You may also wish to read the International Students' Handbook, written by Connecticut College international students themselves, for great advice on living and learning at the College.
