Fun Facts About the Class of 2016

Connecticut College students are an impressive and accomplished group. The Class of 2016 promises to be no exception!

The Class of 2016 so far includes:

- A student who climbed the United Kingdom's three tallest peaks in 24 hours for a charity event
- One who has published poetry and a memoir on NPR
- A co-founder of a national service initiative to raise awareness of childhood poverty
- Several state swimming champions
- A national sailing champion
- Several certified SCUBA divers
- A student who wishes to continue work at the College on a body image project that helps dispel the myth that young women must look like magazine models
- A writer with a novel in progress
- A baker who's a three-time, 3rd place winner in the Maryland State Fair (brownie) baking contest
- A full-time model
- An off-Broadway actor
- A Cornish gig racer (form of rowing)
- A black belt in Tae Kwon Do
- Students whose science research or internships have included:
    - collecting and analyzing fruit flies for genetic research at the University of Pennsylvania biology lab
    - working in the cancer biology lab at UMass
    - interning with a cardiothoracic surgeon at UMass
