What's the Senior Giving Program?
The Senior Giving Program has a twenty-six year history here at Connecticut College. It started with the Class of 1982 as a way to introduce graduating seniors to the concept of giving back to the College through the Annual Fund. Over the years, it has evolved into a long-standing tradition in which students make gifts to the College in recognition of the educational experience they are soon to complete.
Every member of the Class of 2008 will be asked by the Senior Giving Committee to make a gift to the College through the Annual Fund. Annual Fund gifts provide immediate support for all aspects of the College's operating budget, including: financial aid, faculty salaries, acquisition of library materials, departmental budgets, athletics, arts programming and campus and building maintenance.
One of President Higdon's goals is to inspire the next generation of Connecticut College alumni to feel passionate about their alma mater and to give back in support of it. The Senior Giving Program lays the foundation for a tradition of giving back and establishes what is hoped to be a life-long legacy of giving.
