Why is participation important?

Each gift and every gift, regardless of the size, helps boost the College's alumni participation percentages. 

• The participation rate of alumni who give to the Annual Fund is one of the tools used by the outside world to measure the level of satisfaction that alumni have for their institution.
  
• Many corporations and foundations examine alumni participation rates when deciding whether or not to invest in the College by awarding grants for research and projects on campus.
  
• An Annual Fund gift of any amount increases Connecticut College's participation rate, which, in turn, increases the College's national reputation—and the value of a Connecticut College degree.
