Mentoring

Bridges Mentor Program

The "Bridges" mentoring program, organized by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni Associaton Board of Directors, matches alumni mentors with current students in the same field of interest.

Bridges seeks to build substantive, sustainable relationships between students and alumni. Mentors are asked to share information on their own career, education and life so that students can see how the college experience is linked with subsequent academic and professional pursuits. Matches will be based on similar personal and career/post-graduate interests.

If you are interested in mentoring a current student with advice about career paths, grad school and other choices, send an e-mail explaining your interest to alumni@conncoll.edu. We are building a pool of alumni mentors during Spring 2008 and will match these first volunteers with students in the fall. For more information, contact Beth Poole at beth.poole@conncoll.edu or 860-439-2301.

Interships

You can also help current students explore their academic or career interests by creating a summer internship position for a rising senior.

To register your interest, download and fill out an internship sponsor form. You may return the form to CELS by fax, e-mail or mail. See contact information on the form.

You can also sponsor an internship - provide funding for a student placement - by contacting the Office of College Advancement at giving@conncoll.edu.

Providing jobs for students or alumni

To post full-time job opportunities for seniors and/or alumni (please specify), e-mail a job description, description of your organization and application guidelines to Jack Tinker at jack.tinker@conncoll.edu.

To interview Connecticut College seniors and seniors from other colleges in Boston (November), New York (January) and Washington D.C. (February), contact Jack Tinker at jack.tinker@conncoll.edu.

If you would like to hold an Information Session or conduct interviews on campus for jobs/internships, please email Diane Birmingham at diane.birmingham@conncoll.edu.
