5th Reunion
May 30 – June 1, 2008
Highlights of the weekend include:
Friday, May 30
- 3-4 p.m. Open house with Lee and Ann Higdon. Drop by, meet our president and his wife at their house, and view their collection of 19th century American art.
- 4-5 p.m. Wine tasting reception. Join President Higdon and Armando Bengochea, dean of the college community and sommelier, to explore a selection of wines from today's marketplace.
- 5-7 p.m. Hot air balloon rides - see the campus from a whole new perspective aboard a tethered hot air balloon!
- 5:30-7:45 p.m. New England Clambake.
- 8 p.m. An evening with Jeffrey Toobin, CNN legal analyst and author, followed by a Q&A and book signing.
- 9 p.m. Desserts and drinks for the Classes of 1998 and 2003.
- 9:30 p.m. Class social time in hospitality headquarters.
Saturday, May 31
- 8-11 a.m. Open waterfront:
- Sailing: Sailors of all skill levels are welcome to come down and check out the Thames River and try out the College's fleet of FJs, 420s and Lasers. Coach Jeff Bresnahan and members of our nationally ranked sailing team will answer questions and provide tours of the river by boat.
- Rowing: Try single sculling on the Thames River with men's rowing coach Ric Ricci.
- 9-10 a.m. BACK TO CLASS. The Hip-Hop Generation: Young, Gifted, and Black, with David Canton, the Jacob and Hilda Blaustein Assistant Professor of History.
- 9:30-11 a.m. Climbing wall. Test your rock climbing skills! No experience necessary but you must meet the minimum height requirement.
- 10 a.m. Pre-parade mimosas with your class.
- 10:30 a.m. Parade of Classes. Celebrate your class spirit and pride!
- 10:45 a.m.-Noon. Alumni Convocation - Celebrating Connecticut College.
- President's address
- Awards recognizing alumni volunteers
- Recognition of class gifts
- Noon-1:30 p.m. Reunion picnic.
- 1:30 p.m. Express Workouts: Fitness Fad or Lifestyle? Are there any shortcuts on the path to looking good and living longer? Can a 15-minute workout really deliver results? Explore the facts of fitness with Joan Pagano '68.
- 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wiffle Ball: Classes of 1998 & 2003 vs. Classes of 1988 and 1993.
- 5:30-6:30 p.m. Microbrewery beer tasting.
- 7 p.m. Class of 2003 dinner on the green.
- 10 p.m. All-alumni Reunion celebration - live music from the B. Willie Smith Band.
SUNDAY, June 1
- 10:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Brunch. Harris Refectory.
