The 2007 men´s soccer season has arrived and the Camels are looking to take a step forward in the NESCAC with a more experienced ball club. NEW LONDON, Conn. -Connecticut College freshman midfielder Greg Genco of Hauppauge, New York has been named to the Super-Y League Olympic Development Team. Genco was honored as one of just 23 players selected from a pool of 140 at the ODP Camp in Cocoa, Florida. A member of the Long Island Rough Riders U17 team, Genco joined his teammate and Bucknell freshman Conor O'Brien on the '88-89 squad. »

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -The Wesleyan University Cardinals (7-0, 4-0) edged Connecticut College 2-1 (2-4-1, 0-4) in a NESCAC men's soccer game played in Middletown Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals pulled ahead in the 84th minute on an own goal. On a throw in, Ross Pemmerl hurled the ball all the way into the scoring box and the ball deflected off a Camel player's foot and into the net. Connecticut College sophomore Ted Lane kept the game close with an impressive performance, stopping six saves and recovering many other loose balls and crosses in his area. »

New London, Conn.--The Coast Guard Academy (4-1-1) and Connecticut College (1-2-1) combined for 37 shots in 110 minutes of play Wednesday, but neither side could put one in and the game ended in a scoreless draw. Sophomore Ted Lane (Portland, Ore.) stopped four shots in net for the Camels, and has now logged 200 minutes of scoreless goalkeeping in two games against the Bears. One of the greatest rivalries in small college athletics returns to Harkness Green Wednesday afternoon when the Camels host the Coast Guard in the 30th annual Whale Cup match for New London bragging rights. In the last meeting between the two schools, the Camels used a goal from Win Robinson in the 75th minute of play to pull out the 1-0 victory. New London, Conn.--Head coach Bill Lessig has released the 2006 Connecticut College men's soccer schedule. Co-Captains David Driscoll and Winslow Robinson will lead the Camels into competition this fall. The team ended the 2005 season with a thrilling victory over Tufts and hopes to carry the momentum into the 2006 campaign. The season kicks off Saturday, September 9 in New London with a showdown against NESCAC rival Middlebury College. Camel home soccer games are free of charge for all students, faculty and staff. When attending games on the green, the team encourages spectators to be a good sport and follow the code of conduct outlined in the Connecticut College Sportsmanship Statement. »

5/8/06 Bill Lessig and Jim Gabarra ´81 Will Join Inaugural Class of Southeastern Connecticut Hall of Fame
NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College men's soccer coach Bill Lessig has been selected to the Southeastern Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame. Lessig, who was inducted in the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame in January, will join the Class of 2006 in a special induction ceremony this Friday May 12 in the Officers Club at the United States Coast Guard. 12/8/05 Bill Lessig to be Inducted into State of Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame Camel Head Coach Celebrates 35th Season with HOF Induction
New London, Conn.--Connecticut College men's soccer coach Bill Lessig has been selected to the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame. Lessig will join the Class of 2006 in a special induction ceremony January 28 at the Farmington Marriot. The event gets underway with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m, leading up to the induction speeches and ceremony. Lessig is celebrating his 35th season as the head coach of the Camel men's soccer program. He has directed Connecticut College to Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships in the 1992 and 1996 seasons. In 1995, Lessig and the Camels won nine consecutive regular season games, advancing into the NCAA Tournament. »

Orange, NJ) in the 37th minute of play, propelling the Connecticut College Camels (1-0) to a 1-0 blanking of Eastern Connecticut State University (1-2) Thursday afternoon on Harkness Green. Goldblatt (S. Orange, N.J) sent the cross to the right post side of the net where Driscoll was waiting on the doorstep to deliver the Camel goal.
