Head Coach Jeff Bresnahan- 16th Season

Now in his 16th season as the head sailing coach at Connecticut College, Jeff Bresnahan has built one of the top programs in the nation. During the 2000-2001 season, the Camel women’s team earned its share of headlines winning four regattas including their first Atlantic Coast Championship. The Atlantic Coast crown lifted the women’s team to the number one ranking in collegiate sailing at the conclusion of the fall schedule. His team then went on to finish fourth at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women’s Dinghy Championship in May.

In 16 years as head coach of the Camel program, Bresnahan’s sailing teams appeared in 14 ICSA National Championship regattas and four sailors have competed for the Singlehanded National Championship. His women’s squad put together three consecutive third place finishes from 1997-99 while the coed squad notched a pair of fifth place finishes in 1998 and 2008.

Under Bresnahan’s direction, 15 Connecticut College sailors have gone on to earn All-America status while six others have been named all-crew.

Along with his coaching duties at Connecticut College, Bresnahan has served as the Principal Race Officer for the Optimist Team Racing National Championship, the Vanguard 15 Fleet and Team Racing Championships, and the Falmouth Mid-Summer Team Racing Championship.

Bresnahan began his coaching career at Salem State College in 1988 assisting head coach Joe Duplin in training the Viking sailing team.

A talented sailor, Bresnahan has competed in several major regattas including the Olympic Trials, Star Boat Class (1992, 4th place), Can-Am Olympic Classes Regatta, (overall series winner in 1991 - Marblehead and Miami), and the Star Boat District 1 Championship (1991, 2nd place).

Addison Caproni- Assistant Coach - 1st Season

 Addison Caproni, a 2009 graduate of Connecticut College, enters his first season as assistant coach of the sailing program.
