In memory of Cristina Nardone

The friends and family of Cristina Nardone '04 are starting a nonprofit in her memory. Her life was highlighted by her service to the Dogon region of Mali, West Africa. As a Peace Corps volunteer and project director for the USAID-funded Global Sustainable Tourism project, she had a direct impact on the people of Mali.

The Cristina Nardone Memorial Fund will work to improve the lives of people in that area by promoting sustainable development, community empowerment, local ownership and a deep appreciation for the local culture. Projects will be generated by the local community and completed in partnership with local residents.

The organizers are looking for volunteers with all different types of skills to help with this effort. For more information contact Cristina's sister, Jacqueline Nardone, at
