 Introduction
 The Connecticut College handbook provides a summary of the current benefits, policies, and conditions of employment at Connecticut College for the convenience of our employees and supervisors.
 The employment relationship which exists between the College and each of its employees is employment at-will. This means that any employee is free to end his or her employment with the College at any time for any reason or no reason, with or without cause or prior notice. Likewise, the College may at any time, decide to end an individual's employment at any time for any reason or no reason, with or without cause or prior notice and at its sole discretion. This handbook sets forth certain College procedures and guidelines which the College intends to follow under normal circumstances. These procedures and guidelines may be revised or changed from time to time at the College's option with or without prior notice.
 Policy changes are within the sole discretion of the President of the College and may be made with or without notice. Other College officials or representatives do not have authority to alter the policies in this handbook, or to enter into a contract or make an oral promise inconsistent with College policies.
 You are expected to become familiar with all of the policies and regulations described herein. The handbook is available on-line, from your supervisor or from Human Resources for ready reference. The information is subject to change from time to time at the discretion of the College. The College reserves the right to modify policies, programs, and other practices. Periodically, the handbook will be updated. It is your responsibility to review updates as they are announced.
 A Glossary of Terms, containing definitions for italicized words may be found in the back of this handbook.
 Further explanation of any information contained in this handbook can be obtained from the Office of Human Resources. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
