General Information

Coming to Reunion 2012? Here's a quick guide to help you plan all the details of your visit. If you have a question that isn’t answered below, please feel free to email us at reunion@conncoll.edu

Q: What kinds of things will we do during our reunion?
A: The full schedule of events will be posted in the spring. However, you can see last year’s schedule to get an idea of some of the events in-store for your special weekend.

Q: Can I bring my children? Is Reunion kid-friendly?
A: Absolutely! Children are welcome. Reunion includes many family activities like arts and crafts, a caricature artist, balloonist, bouncy castle and more. Childcare is available Saturday night during the Saturday class dinners. More about children’s activities and childcare.

Q: When can I register?
A: In late March or early April, you will receive notice that registration for Reunion 2012 is open. Once it is, you can register online or print out a form to mail in.

Q: How much does attending Reunion cost?
A: Registration for all alumni except the 50th Reunion class is “a la carte” for each event you would like to attend.

Q: Why is there a deadline for registration?
A: It is very important that you register for Reunion by the deadline so we are able to accommodate you for housing and meals. Until registration is open, let your friends know you’ll be at Reunion by adding your name to the list of those who are coming back at the Are You Coming Back? section of the website.  We'll publish the list of who's planning to attend soon, so please check back.

Q: I’m interested in coming back for Reunion but not sure what events I should plan to attend. Any advice?
A: Your class’s Reunion Planning Committee is hard at work to plan a memorable weekend. We know from experience that the majority of attendees are on campus for the Saturday afternoon picnic or class luncheon (for the 55th - 75th classes) and the special Saturday evening class dinners. Many come Friday evening for the lobsterbake and class get togethers in the hospitality suites, too!

Q: When will I hear what my class is planning?
A: You should plan to hear preliminary information by the winter and detailed plans from your Reunion Committee by the spring. If you haven’t heard from your Reunion committee, we might be missing your e-mail or home address. Please send your contact details to reunion@conncoll.edu and we’ll be sure to get you anything that you’ve missed.

Q: I would like to register for Reunion but don’t have my student ID #. What should I do?
A: You can check your Reunion registration postcard or alumni magazine as they contain your ID number on it. You can also check your Reunion e-mails as many of them will include your ID as well. If you can’t find it, please send an e-mail to reunion@conncoll.edu and we will send you your ID or help you login if you’re having difficulties.

Q: I would like to register for Reunion and have logged in before but can’t remember my login credentials. What should I do?
A: Your user ID is usually a combination of your first initial and last name followed by @conncoll.edu. If you can’t locate your user ID or don’t remember your password, e-mail reunion@conncoll.edu and we will assist you as soon as we can.

Q: Why is it necessary to login to register?
A: Registration is done through our Online Community. It is password protected because it is a secure site, just like any other site where you share your credit card information. While you’re logged in, you also have the ability to search for classmates, update your contact information and submit class notes. Because all of this information is private, we must require a secure login.

Q: What are the on-campus accommodations like?
A: On-campus lodging is convenient for all Reunion activities and available for all alumni and their guests. On-campus lodging makes it easier for you to spend time with your classmates because each class is housed in their own residence hall with its class headquarters which we refer to as your hospitality suite. Bathrooms are shared but not coed.

Q: How are on campus accommodations assigned?
A: If you register for on-campus lodging, you will be housed with the rest of your class unless otherwise requested. Double rooms are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis during registration.

Q: How do you handle special rooming requests?
A: If you wish to be assigned to a room close to a particular classmate/s, you and the other members of your party must make that request in advance in your registration. We will take these requests on a first-come first-served basis and will do our best to accommodate them.

Q: How do I access my room?
A: When you arrive at your class house, you will be given a swipe card to access the building and a key to your room. Upon checkout, please return your swipe card and key to your student host. There is a $25 fee for each lost swipe card and room key.

Q: Can I stay at a hotel?
A: Typically about 85% of alumni stay on campus, however, you are free to stay at a local hotel. Often times each class designates a hotel where other members of the class will stay. Find out more about local hotels here

Q: What should I expect from a dorm room?
A: Accommodations are modest as they are college dormitories. However, most alumni report that it’s all about the experience and embrace being back to college again!

Q: What is in the dorm room?
A: Each room comes with one set of sheets, one pillow, a light blanket, a light towel, a washcloth and small bar of soap. We recommend that you bring coat hangers, a fan and an alarm clock as the rooms do not come equipped with these. Most dorms have overhead lighting so you might want to bring a reading lamp if you prefer. You may choose to bring an extra blanket and pillow; however, they are not necessary as one of each is already provided.

Q: How do I get around campus if I need a ride?
A: We offer our alumni a trolley service to navigate campus. If you need a ride on campus, the Reunion trolley will take you to your destination. The van circles campus approximately every 20 minutes from the College Center at Crozier-Williams. Look for the trolley signs. They will also pick you up anywhere along their route if there is room.

Q: What should I pack?
A: Spring weather in New England can be unpredictable. Pack casual clothes, a sweater or sweatshirt (the bookshop is open during the weekend if you’re in the market for new Connecticut College gear!), comfortable shoes, an outfit for your festive class dinner and rain gear.

You can also bring athletic wear, tennis rackets and extra towels if you plan to use the sports facilities. If you plan to take part in yoga, please bring a mat.

Because others might have allergies, please don't bring or wear heavy perfumes or aftershaves.

Come back!
