Dean of Student Life
Meet Dean of Student Life Jocelyn Briddell.
Most recently the Dean of Students at Douglass College - Rutgers, Dean Briddell is also a graduate of Douglass College, where she majored in American studies and Africana studies. She received a master's degree at The College of New Jersey and a doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. Before becoming the dean of students at Douglass College, Dean Briddell served as assistant dean and director of the Douglass College Center and then as assistant dean of student life. She has also taught courses in leadership and is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences.
The office of the Dean of Student Life is dedicated to enhancing and extending the personal and intellectual development of the College's diverse student body, overseeing:
- Residential Life and Housing
- Student Activities
- Student Counseling Services
- Student Discipline Processes
- Student Health Services
- Student Leadership Development
- and Student Wellness and Health Education
Here are our services:
- provide "first-response" support to victims of bias incidents and sexual misconduct
- serve as primary advisors to the Student Government Association
- manage an evening and weekend on-call response system
- administer a student emergency fund and student loan fund
- provide general support for students and family members regarding campus problems or crises.
