CELS Employment Programs for Seniors
Liberal Arts Recruiting Connection (LARC)
Boston Job Fair & Interview Program. Held annually in November at the Courtyard by Marriott Tremont Hotel, 275 Tremont Street in Boston. Over 40 organizations participate in a 12-college job fair held from 1 – 4 p.m.. Also throughout the day, 30 organizations conduct pre-scheduled interviews for full-time jobs with seniors from 8 colleges. New York Recruiting Consortium Interview Program
Held annually in January at the American Management Association Executive Conference Center in New York City (Manhattan). New York area employers interview seniors from Connecticut College and four other colleges for full-time jobs. http://nyrc.experience.com/er/security/login.jsp
Capital Consortium Interview Program (CapCon)
Held annually in February at the American Management Association Executive Conference Center in Arlington, VA.
Government agencies/organizations from the Washington area conduct interviews for full-time jobs with seniors from Connecticut College and seven other colleges. Added bonus: A Student/Alumni Networking Luncheon. Connecticut College alumni come to the AMA during the noon hour to discuss living and working in DC with CapCon student participants. Campus Interview Program
Organizations come to campus to recruit seniors for full-time jobs through information meetings, interviews at the Office of Career Enhancing Life Skills or at a table at the College Center. Use the CELS Experience software system.
Resume Referral Program
Organizations ask CELS to publicize specific job openings to seniors and collect/forward resumes to their places of business. Employers screen candidates and invite selected individuals to their organizations for interviews.
Employers Seeking Resumes Program
CELS receives job postings from many employers and includes them in the CELS weekly e-mail Job Postings Newsletter that is sent to students. Seniors apply directly to the employers.
Experience Software System Job and Internship Database
Students may search for jobs and internships through CELS Experience software system. The system enables students to search for job opportunities that Experience receives directly from employers (targeted for Connecticut College students) as well as opportunities posted by the CELS Office.
Job Search Resources on the CELS Web site
CELS has an extensive array of links containing job postings and other job search resources. Select Career Resources for Students. Students access passwords through CELS e-portfolio or call x2770.
