Downy Violet Viola pubescens Family Violaceae
Brief Description: This is a yellow flower with brown-purple veins near the base, standing 4-12 inches from a brown or yellowish rhizome. Has 2-4 basal leaves longer than wide, 1.5-4 inches. Blooms from April to May. Geographic Range: Nova Scotia to Manitoba and North Dakota, south to South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas. Habitat: Rich woods or sometimes in meadows Garden Use: An attention grabbing, low growing beautiful wildflower
