Globe Flower Trollius laxus Family Ranunculaceae
Brief Description: Stands 4-18 inches. Leaves are 3-5 parted with three-lobed and coarsely toothed, cuneate-obovate segments. Sepals are 5-7 in number and greenish-yellow to yellow to cream in color; 6-9 inches. Blooms from April to June. Geographic Range: From Connecticut to Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Globe flower is endangered in Connecticut and rare in the northeast. Habitat: Swamps, wet woods and wet meadows Garden Use: This little yellowish flower makes a nice addition to any garden. |
