Geranium robertianum

Family Geraniaceae

 

 

Brief Description: Two feet tall with branched spreading stems. This is a bright pink flower with petals, about 0.5 of an inch; mostly two-flowered. Leaves cleft at the base into 3-5 sections.

Blooms from May to September

Geographic Range: Widespread in the Old World and widely naturalized in our area.

Habitat: Damp rich woods

Garden Use: A annual or biennial with foliage that accentuates the flower in a moist shade garden.

Historic Uses: Herb-Robert has over a hundred common names in the British Isles. It is associated with Robin Redbreast, said to bring death and misfortune if he flies indoors.
