Round-lobed Hepatica

Hepatica americana

Family Ranunculaceae

 

 

Brief Description: Three-lobed leaves which are broadly obtuse or rounded. Flowers are bluish to white or pink; 0.5-1 inch wide.

Blooms in March and April.

Geographic Range: Quebec and Nova Scotia to Minnesota and Manitoba, south to Georgia, Tennessee.

Habitat: Dry or moist, upland woods

Garden Use: Round-lobed Hepatica needs little light. Nicely interplanted with Trillium, Bloodroot, Wild Ginger, and Wild Geranium.
