Ronald Shadbegian

UMASS-Dartmouth and Visiting Economist at the Environmental Protection Agency's National Center for Environmental Economics

Ronald Shadbegian is a Professor of Economics at UMass Dartmouth (since 1993) and is currently a Visiting Scholar at EPA’s National Center for Environmental Economics. He received his BA in Economics and PhD in Economics from Assumption College (1986) and Clark University (1991) respectively. He was a Research Fellow in the U. S. Bureau of the Census ASA/NSF/Census Fellowship Program from 1991-1993. He has published papers in the following peer-reviewed journals: Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Ecological Economics, Topics in Economic Analysis & Policy (Berkeley Electronic Press), Journal of Industrial Economics, Law and Policy, National Tax Journal, Public Finance Review, Contemporary Economic Policy, and Global Business and Economic Review. His current research interests include the effect of EPA enforcement activity on plant-level environmental performance, the effect of emissions trading on productivity, employment, investment, and environmental justice, and the distribution of costs and benefits of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments.
