Class of 2006 Updates

Update from Alaya Morning '06

I am working part-time at Food Works at the Two Rivers Center in Montpelier Vermont, an organization which aims to address the root causes of childhood hunger through garden, nutrition, and cooking education. Right now we are in the process of hiring for our summer camps and are looking for two student interns to assist our Gardens for Learning Summer Day Camp. Interns would have a hand in developing garden/nutrition curriculum, managing our raised-bed garden plots, and have exposure to the organization's other program areas (including the Foodbank Farm.) If anyone has questions, they may contact me directly: alaya@tworiverscenter.org (February 14, 2008)

Update from Selin Devranoglu '06

I work for an NGO called Alliance to Save Energy in DC. I am a research and policy associate and recently became an intern coordinator. We have a rather large intern program which includes internships focusing on policy, research, event management, corporate relations, building codes, international programs, website management and some others. Our website is www.ase.org . The internships are usually full-time and paid. We don't have the summer internship postings yet, but interested students can write to me and ask any questions they have. Update from Ceileigh Syme '06

I have kind of been changing my course of action and am thinking pretty seriously about law school, for international environmental law. I actually had a phone interview today with one firm called Meyer Glitzenstein & Crystal in DC and they are actually working on a case, that if I get the job I would be working on also, where they are suing Ringling Brothers circus for abuse against the elephants in the circus. It would be really neat to work on that! (October 2, 2007)
