Environmental Representatives

Environmental Representatives are an integral part of the environmental functioning of the College. Both House Environmental Representatives and Building Environmental Representatives serve as change agents within their respective buildings, reaching out to students, staff and faculty members to foster environmental sustainability on campus. This is done in collaboration with the Campus Environmental Coordinator.

House Environmental Representatives (HERs) are students who are appointed each year to promote and educate their represented dormitories or “houses” on specific environmental issues and to encourage environmentally friendly practices within the houses. One or two students serve as HER Coordinators.

Connecticut College Building Environmental Representatives BERs

The Building Environmental Representative (BER) is a voluntary year-long position wherein a staff or faculty member serves as an environmental steward who guides and assists colleagues on environmental matters and undertakes building environmental conservation functions and coordination. Above, some of the staff BERs.
