College Partnerships
The Holleran Center works closely with various student groups, academic departments, centers, and offices on campus to promote community partnerships, community learning, and community action. In collaboration with campus partners, the Holleran Center offers workshops to foster skill development in areas ranging from student leadership to best practices for effective community learning; organizes meetings to facilitate coordinated action between different campus and community groups; hosts lectures and conferences to stimulate learning and discussion about important community challenges; informs prospective students about curricular and extracurricular civic engagement opportunities at Connecticut College; promotes student development in community action and public policy at all levels through mentorship opportunities; seeks financial support for community development and community learning initiatives; and supports a wide range of events designed to cultivate intellectual and ethical judgment, create communities that are more just and equitable, and prepare students for lives of active engagement as citizens and leaders in a multicultural democratic society. Key college partners in these endeavors include the Office for Volunteers in Community Service (OVCS), the Office of Career Enhancing Life Skills (CELS), the Departments of Human Development and Psychology, the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Center for the Comparative Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, the Offices of Admissions and Alumni, and the student activism groups listed below:ATLAS
