Unity House People
Appointed Director of Unity House in 2013, Antonio Jefferson joined Unity House Multicultural Center at Connecticut College with a great deal of experience for supporting and embracing students of color at the higher education level. Prior to joining the Unity House staff, he was the coordinator of student activities at Johnson and Wales University in, Miami, Fla. Antonio received his bachelor's degree in communications from Eastern Connecticut State University. Using his experiences and on-campus involvement as an undergraduate student, he went on to pursue graduate school, where he received his master's degree from Florida International University (Miami, Fla.) in Higher Education Administration (Student Affairs).
Jennifer Nival, Assistant Director of Unity House, was born and raised in New York City. Joining the team in 2014, she has had several experiences with diversity and social justice programming and working with underrepresented identities. Jennifer started her educational journey at the University of Vermont earning a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. She became an Admissions Counselor supporting students of color in the New York City area in their interest in higher education. She continued her education at Colorado State University, where she earned a M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Prior to joining the Unity House staff, she was a Program Coordinator for Campus Activities at Colorado State University, working closely with the seven diversity offices and student organizations in their programming initiatives around history and heritage months. Jennifer has a passion for programming and working with communities from underrepresented identities. Personally, Jennifer enjoys riding her bike, watching movies, spending time with family and friends, and dancing.
Dulmarie Irizarry, Administrative Assistant, was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico , and while there earned her associate degree in secretarial sciences from Emory College. Prior to working for Connecticut College, she worked at the Regional Multicultural Magnet School and The Friendship School as a Translator/Interpreter/Secretary. Dulmarie plans to pursue her bachelor's degree in the future.
