Cover of Just Mercy
Connecticut College is a partner of One Book One Region of Eastern Connecticut, which is based on the idea of expanding a small book club to that of an entire community. This year's book is “Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption” by Bryan Stevenson.

The goals of the initiative are to: bring a community together to discuss ideas; broaden the appreciation of reading; and break down barriers among community members.

As part of OBOR’s reading program, Connecticut College and our community partners planned extensive programming, which culminated in a visit by Stevenson to the College on April 4. That event was in conjunction with the College’s Founders Day celebration and launched Connecticut College President Katherine Bergeron’s new Distinguished Lecture Series.
