Note that this storage area will NOT be backed up by Information Services and thus we can take NO RESPONSIBILITY for lost data. You should maintain your own backup for important documents on floppy disk, zip disk, CD ROMs or USB flash memory. How to use:
There are two methods to access your disk space. The easy way to access it is to use the VPNSSL server. For instructions on using it Click Here. If you have trouble or require faster access(better throughput performance) to your stored materials use the instructions below.
- PC Access (library)
When you log on to a PC in the library, You will see an icon on the Desktop for myDocuments.
that folder is automatically mapped as the Z: drive. It can be accessed by either opening MyComputer and clicking on the z drive or by double clicking MyDocuments.
- PC Access (residence hall)
To access this space from the residence halls the drive needs to be mapped manually. Go to Start-->Runand type in: \\cherry\profiles\userID
It will then prompt you for your Userid and password. Enter your username as either firstname.lastname@example.org OR CONNCOLL\userid. and then you will be able to access your space.
- Mac Access (library/residence halls)
Go to Finder and Select Go-->Connect to Server
Enter: smb://cherry/profiles/userID and click connect. You will be prompted for your Userid and password and then the share will be accessible.
